Description

Banana, Ceylon cinnamon & coconut milk. The blend where palatability and metabolic-conscious formulation meet in the middle. Ceylon cinnamon — not cassia, never cassia — is the only cinnamon we put in a dog product. Banana and coconut milk make sure dogs actually want it in the bowl.

What is Monkey Business used for?

Monkey Business is a single-pouch Improve Canine Flavors blend designed for owners who want a daily food topper that’s functional AND genuinely palatable. Ceylon cinnamon is traditionally associated with supporting balanced glucose metabolism. Banana adds natural sweetness, potassium, and soluble fiber. Coconut milk smooths the texture and helps the whole blend stick to kibble, lick mats, and treat recipes.

Why Ceylon cinnamon and not Cassia cinnamon?

This matters more than most dog owners realize. Cassia cinnamon (the cinnamon most people buy at the grocery store) is safe in small amounts but contains high levels of a compound called coumarin. Coumarin can accumulate in the liver with daily long-term use — and the smaller the body weight of the animal, the smaller the safe daily dose. Dogs are a lot smaller than horses. Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum, the “true cinnamon”) contains a fraction of the coumarin found in Cassia — typically 1% or less of Cassia’s coumarin content. For daily-use supplements in dogs, Ceylon is the responsible choice. That’s why every Improve Canine cinnamon product uses Ceylon only. If your cinnamon label doesn’t specifically say “Ceylon,” it’s almost certainly Cassia.

Why banana for dogs?

Banana is naturally dog-safe, naturally palatable, and provides potassium, Vitamin B6, and soluble fiber in a whole-food matrix. It’s the “yes” ingredient — the flavor that drives dogs to want what’s in front of them, so the functional ingredients actually get eaten.

Why coconut milk?

Coconut milk adds creamy body to the blend, supports palatability, and makes the powder stick to lick mats and treat recipes better than a dry blend alone. It also provides medium-chain fats that are easy for most dogs to digest.

Is Monkey Business safe for metabolic dogs?

Monkey Business contains no added sugar, no added salt, no copper, and no fillers. It’s been formulated with metabolic dogs in mind — Ceylon cinnamon is traditionally associated with supporting balanced glucose metabolism specifically, which is why this blend is popular with owners managing insulin sensitivity in their dogs. Banana does contain naturally-occurring fruit sugars, but within typical daily top-dress portions the glycemic contribution is minimal. Always consult your veterinarian before starting any new supplement for a dog with diagnosed conditions or on medication.

How do I use Monkey Business with my dog?

Four common use cases:

  • FOOD TOPPER — sprinkle over kibble or wet food; the sweet-spice profile drives enthusiasm
  • LICK MAT — this is one of the best lick-mat flavors in our lineup; mix with a bit of water or plain yogurt and spread for slow-feed enrichment
  • TREAT BASE — combine with oat flour, water, and flaxseed to bake simple one-pocket treats
  • ENRICHMENT FREEZE — mix with water, freeze into silicone molds for cooling summer enrichment
